We provide services for families and facilities with clients who have been diagnosed with dementia and other neurocognitive disorders. We are here to provide support that makes a difference in the quality of life for the client and their families.

Ventura

Founder and CEO

Dr. Julio Ventura graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Exercise Physiology. His medical degree and Masters of Public Health were earned from St. George’s University. He completed his Neurology residency and fellowship in Neurophysiology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Ventura has a special interest in geriatric neurology as well as neuromuscular disorders such as Myasthenia gravis. Dr. Ventura lives in Saint Johns, FL with his wife and son.

Kim
Harris

Co-Founder

Kim has focused her physical therapy career in neurology and has worked in a variety of inpatient, outpatient, home care, and community-based settings. She received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of North Florida. Kim’s physical therapy specialty includes many aspects of neurological rehabilitation. Her career has grown to focus on geriatric neurology in the community setting. Kim lives in Jacksonville, FL with her husband and two sons.

Ayna Camero Perez

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Ayna Camero Perez is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Her first role in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) was in 2015 as a Registered Behavior Technician. Meanwhile, she completed coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology, a leader in ABA education, and became a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). As a BCaBA, she gained experience in evaluation, program development, and supervision, and, at the same time, continued her own education by enrolling in a Master’s degree program at the University of West Florida. In 2021 she earned her graduate degree in Special Education with a concentration in ABA. Over these past few years, she has worked in clinic and home-based settings focusing on early intervention. She recently created her own small company which has helped her to develop entrepreneurial skills. As Anya has always enjoyed working with the elderly, HEAL-IUM has offered her the opportunity to combine all of her experiences and passions to practice behavioral gerontology by being part of their team of great experts.

Lily C. Darnell

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Lily C. Darnell has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2013. Lily received her undergraduate training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at the University of Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2010. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she was accepted into graduate school at the University of Maryland, where she completed her practicum at the Kennedy Krieger Institute – Neurobehavioral Inpatient Unit at Johns Hopkins Medical Campus. While there, she was rigorously trained in the science of ABA, data analytics, and increasing clinical outcomes. Lily graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with her Master’s Degree in Human Services Psychology in 2013. After graduating, Lily became the first Board Certified Behavior Analyst for the State of Tennessee’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Disorders. She has presented research on a national level at multiple professional conferences. Additionally, Lily is a published author on the topic of behavior analysis.

Jonathan Baker

Clinical Consultant
Dr. Jonathan Baker, Chair of the Department of Psychology at Western Michigan University (WMU), serves as a research and clinical consultant for Heal-ium. Prior to joining WMU, he was a faculty member in the behavior analysis and therapy program in the Rehabilitation Institute at Southern Illinois University (SIU) as well as the coordinator of the SIU gerontology certificate program. He received a certificate in gerontology and a masters in applied behavior science from the University of Kansas under the advisement of Dr. Mark Mathews, a behavioral gerontologist. Dr. Baker received his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University under the advisement of Dr. Linda LeBlanc, a behavioral gerontologist. Dr. Baker has served as a guest reviewer for the American Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias and The Gerontologist. Dr. Baker is the former chair of the Behavioral Gerontology Special Interest Group with Association for Behavior Analysis International. Dr. Baker was the principle investigator for the Behavioral Residential In-home Care and Supports project evaluation for the Illinois Department of Aging and was a co-principle investigator for Behavior Analysis and Intervention in Nursing Homes, funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Baker’s main research focus is behavioral gerontology, including the assessment/treatment of behavioral excesses and developing programs that remediate behavioral deficits in older adults with neurocognitive disorder, as well as treatment adoption. His interests also extend to adults and older adults with developmental disabilities and staff training.
